Pictures speak a 1000 words right? Isn’t that what we’ve always heard? That’s because its true! Take for instance, I took some photos of a tour group as we traveled from Athens to Delphi. The bus ride is about 3 hours but totally entertaining with a guide speaking to the group which made it go quickly. We also had rest room/refreshment stops, a wonderful lunch and of course, as you can see Delphi is amazing. There is free time to roam around the outdoors Delphi Excavation Site before you go into the remarkable Delphi Museum.
Delphi is known as the place of the ‘pre’ Olympics, the navel of the earth, the location of the most important oracle of ancient times, and the home of the Temple of Apollo. As you can see by the photos, you will walk up the hillside looking back at the Temple, the theatre, all cradled by the Mount Parnassus and the Phocis valley below.
